Our Shawl Ministry celebrated it's 1st Birthday in January!! Here are pictures from their birthday celebration!
Many shawls have been lovingly knitted and blessed in the past year. They have then been given to those who may have had a need of some comfort and solace.
"Shawls . . . made for centuries universal and embracing, symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify. Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to fly above their troubles . . ." Janet Bristow-1998, Copyright 2005
Prayer Patch
The prayer shawl ministry has a new venture. Sometimes a prayer shawl is too large, or you just can't take it with you. One of our prayer shawl ladies heard about "prayer patches", which are little miniature versions of prayer shawls.
"Prayer Patches" are good to hold onto while you are in the hospital or if you are facing surgery. Feeling alone . . . hurting . . . the prayer patch or prayer shawl is a reminder of God's presence in whatever situation you are facing.
Want to learn how to create a prayer shawl or prayer patch . . . or just hear the stories we share? Come join us on the 4th Monday of the month at 9:30am or 6:30pm. For further information, call Judy Morris at 234-5501. |
